Oncology Massage
"Skilled touch can increase quality of life, lend emotional support, and decrease pain and other physical discomforts. Receiving comforting, attentive bodywork reminds the patient that the body can still be a source of pleasure. As they relax, pain, fatigue and nausea dimish. Touch reminds them they are still lovable and worthwhile."
MacDonald, Gayle, (2007) Medicine Hands. Findhorn Press, page 6.

(Cassileth BR, Vickers AJ, 2004, Massage Therapy for Symptom Control: Outcome Study at a Major Cancer Centre, Journal of Pain & Symptom Management, 28:3 244-250).
Being diagnosed and going through cancer treatment is a major and emotional life changing event. During and after treatment Oncology Massage can provide relief from the side effects of treatment. Taking time out "just for you" is so beneficial in providing a peaceful haven away from the stressful and tiring routine of medical visits and the demands of everyday routines.
Time-Out for Carers
Carers provide such wonderful support however, they can be at risk of burn-out themselves. If you are a support person it is important for your own health to care for yourself to enable you to find the energy to care for your loved one or friend. A relaxation massage for yourself would give you an amazing "pick me up" and provide a little "time-out" just for you.
Client Review:
'After being diagnosed with breast cancer and facing months of chemotherapy and radiation, the last thing I was thinking of was treating myself to a massage. Little did I realize that regular oncology massage would form such an important part of my treatment both physically and emotionally. Julie is beautifully caring, supportive and very experienced in her field. She provided me with a wonderfully relaxed environment and enabled me to take time out for myself in a way that also complimented my overall treatment plan. I am so very grateful for the gift voucher I was given that introduced me to Julie. One of the best gifts I've ever received.'
